Trouble remembering? Try this!!

My husband had a course recently and they had this 'memory' exercise. He tried it on me when he got home and I was amazed at how it worked! Now you may already know about this and I'm just way behind on things! Give it a go and see if you can remember! Wish I had known about this at school and when I was doing my cabin crew exams!!

OK, Give your partner the list (see below) and give them 20 secs to remember the words, take the list away, and ask them to repeat them.

I got about 8 the first time.

OK, Next give the list back to your partner and this time, remember the words in pairs and associate and visualize each pair with a room in your house. For example - Pig/Rose are at the Front Door... Leg/Door in the Downstairs WC... Fox/Grass in the Kitchen etc etc

Give them 30 secs to remember in the new way.

Don't test them straight away, leave it for an hour or so, then ask them to list the items from the list in order. Start at the front door or the first room you used and in your head 'walk' through the house and name each pair in each room.

Give it a go, I think this is brilliant! I even remembered them the next day by using this method and my memory is shocking!!

Here's the list of words we used...

PIG
MUM
ROSE
SKIRT
LEG
AMERICA
DOOR
FRIDGE
FOX
MODEL
GRASS
BEACH
BOOK
PAPER
CUP
MIRROR
TABLE
WATCH
WINDOW
MAP

Good luck and let me know how it goes!
