Animals don't wear make-up, so why test it on them!

Recently, I've been becoming more and more aware that animal testing is still going on. I'm sure those of you that follow my Facebook page have seen me sharing a lot of PETA's posts, as I'm shocked, appalled and absolutely disgusted that animal testing still happens and many of our favorite brands are guilty of this.....

Going through my make-up bag, my lotions and potions and simply 'googling' the question, the answer pops up and I can't believe the brands that still test on animals. It isn't just our beauty products either, it's also men's ranges and many of our everyday household cleaning products.

I don't know whether I've just been ignorant to this, or uneducated, or simply unaware and just didn't want to believe that this still goes on, but it does. Our beloved bunnies, cats and dogs are being used and it's disgusting this happens in 2014.

It does get slightly confusing when figuring out who does and doesn't test on animals, as a brand may not test in the UK for example, but if their products are sold to China, then they will be tested on animals, as this is China's law (but this is being worked on hopefully changing)

How can anyone do this

to these beauties?

There are so many products out there that DO NOT test on animals and campaign against animal cruelty, that we do not need to continue buying these other products. Check out PETA's website, where there is more information and comprehensive lists on the brands/products that do and don't test on animals.

I hope everyone's with me and will start to make a change and just take an extra few minutes to make sure the products we're using, are NOT tested on animals.

If we all can start making some small changes, this will lead to big changes I'm sure.

Thanks for reading

  1. Thank you for continuing to spread the word on this subject. It easy to understand why people assume this practice went out a long time ago with other barbaric practices. Sadly, it lingers and needs to be flushed into history like so many other cruel things have been. Once we learned to look for the "bunny" logo it helped us make better decisions. I am not sure but would hope that the bunny shows up in the drugstores, cosmetic shops, pharmacies, chemists, etc., or whatever a country has, all over the world.

    1. Hi Dave,
Thank you so much for your comment. It deeply saddens me that all this testing on animals still goes on. Everyone needs to look for the bunny logo and I am making sure everything I buy from now on is cruelty free. I just hope people become aware that these horrific practices still go on and make a decision to change things in their life too.
I will be taking a look at you blog too.
