Morning Oats

If you're anything like me I'm always looking for the next healthy/weight-loss secret!

Something that I can easily incorporate into my lifestyle without it feeling like a diet or a chore.

I've done 'diets' in the past, but now I'm more into the whole lifestyle change - I'm in it for the long run!

A couple of things that I've been eating/drinking on a regular basis for easily the last six months, that I think has been the result of me being able to keep the lbs at bay and actually feel so much healthier.

Just a simple change in my morning habits.

I'm talking breakfast here guys.

So easy and simple.

Something I've taken from the Dukan diet that I have done in the past.

That was to have oats for breakfast. With skimmed milk.

Oats are a slow releasing carb, so they gradually fill you up which ultimately stops those mid-morning cravings.

I have two generous spoonful's of oats in a bowl and mix with some skimmed milk - I like mine quite runny rather then dry and stodgy, so I am quite liberal with the milk. I then heat it up for a minute in the microwave, stirring half way through. When they're done add a sprinkle of sweetener and they're good to go.

I do find they work better with skimmed milk rather then semi-skimmed. As with semi-skimmed I find they go far too stodgy and turn into a solid goo far too quickly.

Along with my oats I try to have two mugs of Pu-erh tea a day as well. These are literally the only constant changes I have made and it seems to be working. Keeping the lbs at bay - now I need to work on toning up! But that's for another blogpost.

I really do think that eating a sensible breakfast is a big factor in a healthy lifestyle. They do say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. The oats really do keep me full, more than any breakfast cereal ever has.

Do you like to have a healthy breakfast in the morning? What's your key things for keeping the weight at bay and most importantly what keeps you feeling healthy?!
